Speaking of axes...
« on: June 11, 2013, 08:16:00 AM »
I took an arm full of them down to Kenny Rowe to have the edges covered. I decided that I would not have this many gathered up at once ever again so I snapped a shot.

These are almost two months worth of research and developement in figuring out the forging process. I think I have it down to where I can consistently forge one of these in two or three basic looks as well as different sizes including the handles.

I'm drooling! Wow, is that a great looking pile of craftsmanship, function, and hard work!

Nice collection!

I really like Kenny's minimalist edge guards. I made a cover for my full-sized ax and wasted a lot of leather and time covering the entire head.

That pile looks about 4 axe handles wide. Very nice!

Thank you guys.

You notice that there is a knife in the midst of the axes. I was digging around in one of my closets and saw that knife from a few years ago. It's a JS knife but not really up to par with what I was trying to do so I had it stuck away sort of hidden. I showed it to my wife and she wanted it. So, I had a sheath made for it. I think she likes it.

Looks like the handle on one near the upper right is awfully short, Lin!  Love your axes/hatchets. The "edge protectors" look great too and are perfect for a tool that will be strapped to or carried in a pack, as opposed to being carried on my body.
