Damascus Bird and Trout
« on: September 19, 2013, 04:38:00 PM »
This is the blade in the choil thread. It is not finished yet but will be pretty soon. I just thought you might want to see some activity. I have to hand sand it and test it, then etch it. It's 5 3/8 inch long after the filing is done. It still has a little fire scale in some tight places that will go away in the hand finishing. I'll be taking pics along the way but be patient with me. I have a lot going on.   :)

Thanks guys. I got to finish the blade and etch it, so here it is before the guard and handle goes on.

Is that a higher layer count before twisting? Just curious because it looks a little different than your twist pattern usually looks. Just as attractive,  but different.  Have you chosen a handle material yet?

Thanks.
Chris, I used a mix of high and low layer count. The high was a "W" pattern. I'll be getting a handle on it soon, but have not settled on that yet.
