My personal Bare Bone blades are getting a work out this season and a nice gray patina after skinning & processing two deer so far...tippit

Ha very nice Jeff... I love seeing great gear getting used as it should! Did Zack get to use his knife on an elk? Did he get any action? Jim

Jim,
This was Zach's first year hunting elk.  He was on elk every time out during archery season and once during rifle season. He passed on a cow at 10 yards with his bow cause there was a huge bull behind her...yep she smelled him   :)    During rifle season he only had a cow tag and only saw bulls!

He did skin out one elk and his knives skinned a total of four other elk.  The good thing he has some knife orders rolling in now.  He has the blade shape and more importantly the edge geometry down so pounding out a few knives in between bigger blacksmithing jobs helps with bread on the table.

That's great Jeff. Sounds like a fun first year full of experience. Good for him. Thanks for the update, I was wondering   :)
