Replacement Folder
« on: November 26, 2013, 11:59:00 PM »
I've got a customer who got one of my folders last Christmas and really liked it.  He liked it so much he carried it to a concert in Denver last summer.  A metal detector got him and the Rent a cops took it a way from him.  When he tried to take it back there was a scuffle which lead to him getting to spend a night in lockup with assault charges against him.  The security people swear they threw they knife away.  I suspect one of the guards is carrying a new Damascus and Mammoth liner lock. Bottom line if something like this happens, back off and call the real cops. Loosing you temper aint the way to go....

Any way he ordered this replacement a couple months ago.  I tried to match the old one as close as I could.

Here was the original in case you see it around...

Doug, your advice is, of course, right on.

Having said that, I can understand not willingly giving up that knife. NICE!

I think I'd find places to hang out without security goons if I had a nice knife like that.......cause it'd be in my pocket all the time too.

Thanks guys and yea, he knows he screwed up. He saw the sign of "No weapons". Tween his thinking he wouldn't get caught and over reacting security people it turned into a real bad situation... Up here in MT a pocket knife is a tool not a weapon. Going anywhere without your pocket knife or giving it up just doesn't compute. I spect if it had been me it would have gotten "ugly" too.    :nono:

I need to refrain from all sorts of possible comments, but, Doug - those are both beauties.
You are very talented.

Sorry to hear of the bad situation with your customer and his knife. You sure made a beauty to replace it. I wonder if they would have allowed him to just take it back to his vehicle? Some folks are just not open to easy solutions though. I feel like you do, a pocket knife is a tool. But the reality of the world we live in changes things for the worse sometimes.

But back to the knife, I really like it and would like to see more folders from you in the future. Its not unknown how I love folding knives. Thanks for sharing.

Love this one, right size for chores or meal!
I go nowhere without at least a folder if not 2.
I was caught trying to board a plane in Germany with a mini "folder" on my key chain. It was bye bye the folder! To the "recycle" bin...
