Stag and 1095 Bear Knife
« on: April 17, 2014, 08:25:00 AM »
I finished this knife up last night and it has quickly become my new favorite. I like the style of the old western knives so that was the look I was going for but I added in some of my own style to the design. The overall length of the knife is 7 1/2" with the blade being 3 3/4". The handle is stag and I added the red spacers to dress it up a bit then put blood wood and maple spacers to separate the stag from the finger guard. I plan on taking this on my Fall bear hunt coming up and since I sold my turkey knife for this season, I think this knife will come along for the rest of turkey season. Thanks.

Thanks Steve, I shot him with my Wild Horse Creek Mariah recurve. I've gotten lucky and had a really good season this year and been able to take 2 birds with my bow. I was pleased with how the knife performed on the turkey. It's not really a huge task to cut the breast off a turkey though. I have a group turkey hunt this weekend with a bunch of friends so it should get a workout. Hopefully it gets tested on a bear and several deer in the fall as well.
