Rosewood slippy
« on: May 22, 2014, 11:26:00 AM »
Something just finished. A practice run to make sure I have everything right. For my third slip joint I am very pleased with the result.
Rosewood with SS and Black G10 liners and Giraffe bone bolster. Pins are SS with Silver. Blade is 1080 cold blued.

Thanks for looking

Tim

Very nice. Only thing I'd suggest is to use some type of washer or bushing inset into the bolster to protect it from splitting when you peen the main pin......if you are going to use something other than metal for the bolsters. Will add a lot more strength at the pivot area.
Great looking design.

Thanks Darcy. That's why I used a combination of SS and G10 for the liners, so all the stress doesn't carry over to the bolster.
