Spalted Oak Hunter
« on: October 17, 2014, 10:40:00 AM »
One on its way to Kansas.
Every now and then I find a chunk of dark spalted oak. I think they are very cool, and when I can I grab 'em!
I stuck this one on a W1 hunter blade and did some magic hamon treatment.
Should make a great belt knife.
Stainless guard and take-down.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

The hamon treatment isn't the only thing magic!

Beautiful knife.

Don't you know oak is too plain for a knife handle.  Amateur.    ;)

I might have gotten that backwards. Maybe it's that my knives are too plain for that oak handle.  I get confused sometimes.

But if you're handsome enough, you can claim to be anything you want and nobody will argue.
