Beech bowie
« on: February 02, 2015, 05:31:00 PM »
I have been working on (and correcting mistakes) on this one for a month and really happy that I was able to complete it. It is a W2 blade, .200 thick at the spine,  416 guard, copper spacer and pin.  I had planned on using a pear handle, but I ruined the piece during the process and ended up using a plain old piece of stabilized beech for my second attempt.

Had a good natural light box yesterday with 6 inches of snow on the ground and an overcast sky and thus was able to take some half way decent pictures.

How do you wear it on your swim suit?
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
