New Tablet camera
« on: June 01, 2015, 11:16:00 PM »
I'm going to post this knife here, which I call a Tuxedo Bowie, as an example of a new 8" Dell Tablet i got last week.
I swear the camera in the tablet is better than my camera-camera.
Well, at least it's different.
What it does is shoot 'raw'. It just shoots the image the way it views it.
It doesn't try to compensate for anything.
It just shoots the image as it is.
In one way, when I'm using my other cameras, it seems like I have to try really hard when I'm editing to get the knife to look like it looks in real life. And I know some of the professional photographers actually make knives look BETTER than they look. I know because I've seen the real knives in life and then later on saw the edited photos.
I like knives to look life-like.
And these photos here are of this Tuxedo Bowie, and they do, in fact, look exactly like the real knife with no editing.
The tablet cost me $175.00 and it works better than cameras I spent $400.00.
Plus, it does all the thing a portable computer can do!!

When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

That's a great combo. I love the black guard, really ties the whole thing together.

That's pretty interesting that your tablet can shoot in RAW, allows you much more flexibility with editing photos as well. Looks like it works great.

Embarrassing isn't it? I have wanted a good digital SLR camera for a long time. My two sons got me a really good one for a combination birthday/Christmas/Father's Day present.

My wife constantly makes me look bad with her I-pad camera.

Ron - that's funny.
Sort of.
But I know what you mean.
But with those images - which are better than my camera's - I was able to do this with a simple cut-out tool:

As well as this one.
The bottom image is actually laying on the wood while the top one is a cut-out.
But both images are better than my camera.

Great work on this one Karl. That guard and spacer really work. The blade is outstanding.

A tablet is half way from nothing to a lap top.

Karl, those are great images, my wife recently got a I Phone and it is incredible the photo's it takes.

Great looking knives!
