New to Trad Gang...Introduction
« on: February 25, 2016, 12:00:00 PM »
Hi,y'all. Just joined the forum so I thought I'd give an introduction. I'm a bladesmith from central Arkansas. I enjoy shooting traditional archery.  Right now I'm getting by on about the cheapest Martin recurve made   :( . Hoping to upgrade at some point   :) . Here's a hunter I made last December. My own damascus blade and guard with blackwood handle. This was about my third attempt at checkering. My dad made the sheath to go with. Thanks for lookin. Hope to get acquainted.

Really glad to see you on tradgang. You were once kind enough to answer a few basic questions on checkering a while back off another forum. I always love getting to see your knives, thanks for posting this one up.

Beautiful.  I have often wondered why I dont see more checkering on handles.  I sent a belt axe to Windauer to have it checkered.  Turned out great!

Welcome to the gang.  That's a beautiful knife, but I'm really loving that leather.  Your old man did a beautiful job with that one.  Upgrading archery equipment is pretty easy for a knifemaker.  I traded a knife for a custom longbow last year and am working on one right now that's getting me a used custom recurve from a local guy.

Very nice!
Good comment on the archery upgrade, that knife would be excellent trade bait.
