Elk Antler and 1084
« on: July 21, 2016, 07:12:00 PM »
I'm a bit behind on posting this one. I don't make very many hidden tang knives but I'm happy with this one and I think It's gonna stay with me. Steel is 1084 with the knife being 8 1/4" overall with a 4 1/4" blade. The handle is elk antler, the guard and end cap are stainless with black and red G-10 liners.

I got in a hurry when I was cutting the guard out and nicked it with my cutoff wheel, I thought I would be able to sand it out but it was just too deep. You can see the cut on the guard right under neath the pin. I can live with it since I'm going to keep it but lesson learned I guess.

Nice one.  Elk  looks good on the blades you are making.

That is a very cool blade. Probably my favorite of yours to date.

Awesome!

Thanks guys, appreciate it. I've been looking at the knife and wish I would of made the blade a bit longer. I drew a couple others out today and I think I'm going to make another one with a blade that's a bit longer. Just have to find the perfect antler, that's the hard part.

that is a great looking knife!  I like how the antler is not ground down too much.
