Sheep horn hunter
« on: September 20, 2016, 02:22:00 PM »
Here's my first try using merino sheep horn. Learned a little lesson with this one. Started out with the scales a little too thick so lost some of the contour when grinding the shape of the handle. The blade is CPM35VN stainless steel with a stainless steel bolster. The length of the blade is 4 1/4" and the knife is 9" overall.

Really nice Knife and sheath!

Nice proportion of blade and handle size.

I want to try sheep horn.

Thanks Steve. It was my first try, it work real well. I had these scales for a while and had them stabilized about a year ago, finally decided to use them.

Thanks Sam.

Kim,
I had a set of stabilized horn that I used for this knife. I pretty much used it the same as wood scales. Not sure if there's anything special to working with it that I should have done, maybe I just was lucky if there is.
