Aiken Forge Open!
« on: December 07, 2016, 03:01:00 PM »
Productive couple of days at my Aiken forge.  Twelve inch kitchen knife from a "Women with Cancer" Auction last spring forged with the new owner plus one of three 7 1/2 inch old style hunting knives that I'm supposed to get done by Xmas.  I'm not very good at orders especially when it's multiples of the same knife though.

These are forged and ground to near finish still needing handle holes and quench/temper to finish up.

Hey Benjy,
I didn't think about your Cactus Juice stabilized wood...but that would be fun to try.

Nice thing about forging is you can play with just about any thing steel.  This is what got me back into swinging my hammers here in Aiken.  Little twisting and drawing of a railroad spike hoof pick for my mustang Sweet Annie.  It's kinda traditional hunting if I use one of my horse bows  :)
