It is a piece of scrap some bowyer sent me years ago...unfortunately don't even remember who sent it.  On top of all you see, it is also curly.

Talk about pretty...I found a 1" square X 12" long piece of Black & White Ebony at Woodcraft Supply while I was picking up some glue.  I've got all sorts of wood scraps coming out my ears...but this piece was cheap ($12) and knockout beautiful.

I debated getting it because what the heck do you do with that small a piece of wood...fillet style knife with super thin flexible blade (OAL 9 inches).  Actually there is enough left for two more small knives!
