Two Hunters for ICCE
« on: September 18, 2017, 06:56:00 AM »
ICCE - International Custom Cutlery Expo
This takes place next weekend in Kansas City, MO.
I had shoulder surgery in May a few months ago, and that seriously effected my knife making this summer.
But, I'm pretty well back at full speed - just in time for the show in KC.
That said, I was only able to get two hunters done. (And one fighter)
These are both take-down hunters.
This first one is a single twist Damascus affair with a hot-blued guard and stabilized spalted maple. (I also did a mirror polish on the blade spine before I hot-blued the Damascus)

And this second one is a San-mai knife with some really nice stabilized Redwood Lace burl.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.
Chief Joseph

Both are great, Karl, but I really like the spalted maple knife.

Wow! Wow!

Todd

Wow!!
"Before you get down on yourself  because you don't have the things you want, think of all the things you DON'T want that you don't have."

You'll notice the "luckiest" elk hunters have worn out boots.
