My first
« on: October 08, 2008, 10:02:00 PM »
Sitting in one of my proven spots this evening, I was contemplating whether I could ever do this recurve thing that I love so much. After two hours I heard the faint ruffle of wet leaves to my right. As I turned I see the legs of a deer about 30yds and closing. She was on a trail that leads under my stand at about eight yds. As I get into position I notice that she's acting alittle spooky...I swwear she heard me thinking to myself. She stops at twelve yds and looks at the base of my tree. My calfhair  rest never sounded so loud on this dead calm evening. My fingers touched my lip ever-so-slightly....WHACK!
My arrow buries to the yellow fletching high and tight in her left shoulder. She crashes away in the death run I have seen so many times with a compound in my hand.
Twenty minutes later, in the fading, light I realize the Woodsman head has done it's job.
Thanks for listening my fellow hunters, as this was the best.

ALL RIGHT!!  Just remember, if it were easy then everyone would do it!
I believe we choose the stick and string because extreme efforts and obstacles can and should be used to raise personal achievements to new heights and deeper meanings.
