hello all, i'm very new to bow hunting, and have only started using a second hand hoyt compound, for practice.
i usually hunt with a rifle and wanted to get 'back to basics'.
a take down recurve bow was what i originally had in mind, as i would prefer the instinctive style of shooting, and the compactability. but i was worried that i would be under powered for the very tough tahr that live in the southern alps of new zealand.
anything you can recomend? the das dalaa gets pretty good reviews, hoyt gamemaster maybe... also what draw weight? the compound i use is 70lb, and i can draw that a hundred or so times before i'm completely stuffed. was thinking 55-60lbs?
what would YOU get for a thousand bucks?
