Thank you so much, Linc. Messing with a couple green, Holly sapling bows now - one small and one larger (sapling that is). I may post one, or both, of them here on the "Bench" when I get time. Perhaps next week.

Bernie,

I haven't posted in a long time but I just had to come out of hiding to say congrats on the bow.  She is a thing of beauty.  I also want to thank you for all of the work you put into the pictorial.

Bless your heart, Blaine, and thank you so much. Haven't been posting as much myself lately - except in the making of bows and knives forums, so replys mean extra.

My friend, I very impressed. You are turning into quiet the bowyer. Pretty soon we'll have our very own John Strunk on the east coast. Great job. Hey give me a call if you want to come over and hunt one afternoon. The acorns are about gone and It's getting a little easier to pin em down. Don

Bless your heart too, Don. I would love to do that, not just because I haven't seen a Deer (except in driving to hunt) this year but also because it is you. I certainly will call, and thank you so much for the compliment on the bow(I'll have to disregard the John Strunk reference - I have too much respect for him and his bows - LOL).

Great job Bernie, a real pleasure going on this journey with you.

1 question. At brace the string is to the left of center. Most of what I have read seems to say the string should be in the middle of the handle. I can see the logic of having the string to the left (or right if left handed) but seems to be contrary to what I have read.

Razorback, I looked back at the pics and I see what you are saying/seeing but I think it may just be the way it hangs when unstrung. I went in the other room and looked at it (unstrung) and it does hang a tad to the left but I can see no reason why it does. On the other hand, while for me it shoots right on, for my friend, Mike, it did shoot to the left. I'm gonna have to look at it closer when strung and at full draw - after I get over this lousy cold and my head gets clearer, to see what is up. Funny .

LOL - It got to bugging me and I had to go string it. It rides at center when strung and when/after being  drawn.

Could have easily been, Tom, or the string just came to rest that way - LOL

She is still doing fine, F-Manny. Though I haven't done any shooting lately, so all of my bows are calling to me. Was sick for awhile and just getting back to things. Feel good now but still weak and not ready for braving cold weather when it isn't required - LOL. Thanks for the compliment on the thread - it was a fun trip overall, and i was very pleased with the results.
