Oh ya. The upper limb is on the right and it is longer by an inch which is too long. I believe it should be more like 1/2 or 3/4 of an inch longer.

Looks real good so far. If the right is upper, it looks like it is bending a little less than the other. 1" length difference is fine. Try measuring at the deepest point near the fade on both sides. This should be about 3/16" more on top for a split finger grip, nearly even for 3 under.

I use an arrow or stick to check this measurement. Grab the stick and hold your thumb nail to mark the outside of the string finding the deepest point by running the tip along the belly. Then switch to the bottom limb and do the same. Try it on a finished bow to get the idea of the difference in gap.

Sometimes I check at a point about a foot in from each tip as well, these should be the same.

The RH limb in the pic looks like it could bend a tiny bit more past mid limb to me. Might just be the angle. Not much though. Looks pretty good! (and 1" longer upper limb is just fine. Makes the arrow pass closer to center.) Use a tiller gizmo to help.  gizmo

I think an inch longer is fine. As I recall. Dean make his 64" bow 1.5" longer. I concur with the others that the right limb looks like it bends most in the 1/3 closest the riser.

Are you using the walky talky/tiller gizmo? They are very handy. I think Eric Krewson has a post in the how to.

Braced picture looks good, but it's just a small piece of the whole puzzle.  If the bow shoots good, has taken even set along each limb, and a relatively small amount, if it makes good cast, doesn't handshock, rotate or twist in the hand or even not meeting these criteria if it is an improvement in any area over your last project then you've done well.  Looks like you've done well.

I feel like I have the tiller pretty good on this bow now. If anything maybe it should bend more at the fade outs. What do you all think?

It has 3/16 in. more bend in the upper limb which is again on the left. It is braced at 6 in. It was 55 lbs at 24 in. the last I checked.

Is this a selfbow? You have to at least do a picture of a partial draw. Jawge

Jawge, this is bamboo backed osage. I tried to get a pic of it at part draw but not able to yet.
When my daughter gets home I will post one.

Finally got this bow to where I could draw it. Is the picture good enough to see the tiller?

Your bottom limb looks very good. The top limb looks like it is a bit stiff just above the handle and from about 1/2 way out to just below the tip. A few scrapes should take care of both spots.     Pat

I'd give the upper limb a few more scrapes in the midsection of the limb.
