Reducing Draw Weight

I have a glass/lam long bow (Korean made) that I got from 3 Rivers a few years ago. It's listed as a #55 but feels like a #60! Can I reduce the draw weight of this bow by sanding the limbs on the belly side?

You can reduce weight by sanding yes. But I would sand on both sides to keep things even. Then when done, spray a urethain back over it.
GO SLOWLY because once it's lightened up, you can't make it heavier again!

To clarify, I sand the belly the same number of strokes for each limb, or do I have to reduce the limb width side to side?
Thanks

I would not reduce the limb width side to side...just sand the belly or round the corners a bit to get to your desired weight...also check out this post...which shows a picture of a trapped limb. Trapping the limbs could also cut a small amount of draw weight 5lbs or so, just as you are looking for.
best of luck
