Bob Lee 54" recurves/any short recurve
« on: February 05, 2008, 04:23:00 PM »
Anyone have any experience shooting one of these?  Have a short bow bug at this time and need to be cured, any help would be appreciated.

:campfire:

Can't go wrong with Bob Lee Bows. I have the HUNTER T/D and now the DARK ARCHER. I spoke to Rob Lee and he suggested that I get my Dark Archer 58"s long instead of the 54"s as advertised. At no extra cost to me he made mine 58"s and I had him hold off on the DOUBLE BULL EMBLEM. The quality and craftsmenship is second to none. Both of my bows are silent, fast, no stacking, and pleasing to the eye to look at. Last season I got 3 does with my HUNTER. I didn't have my D/A yet. My next bow will be  B.L.once again.

Hope the info helps. Any questions you can PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I get back on the forum.  :archer:

Sorry Bill, I don't have one of these yet to sell to you! LOL

Good luck, they look like nice bows.

I have a 54" Bob Lee hunter, nice little bow that works great in a blind.

I shot one that was a 45lb.  It was smooth and mighty fast.  Also shot a new 45lb. Bear Kodiak Mag. side-by-side so to speak. The Bob Lee smoked it.

Howdy Bill.  I have some experience with the Black Mountain Bows Sheepeater Obsidan, and WOW!!!!!  What a bow.  Easy to shoot well even at 29".  Brent is a great guy, but don't tell him I said that.  If you call to talk to him, make sure you have LOTS OF TIME on your hands.  LOL!!!

BTW - That is me shooting the orignal Sheepeater with a straight ratan wrapped grip.  I like it, but much prefer the Obsidian model as it is heavier in mass weight and has a recurve style grip.  Sorry I wasn't able to edit out my ugly mug.  LOL!!!

I shoot 3 under, so I don't notice any finger pinch.  I also shoot a Cavalier Elite Cordovan Tab with an extra layer of leather.  Yes, I am a wimp.  LOL!!!!

I have a 54" Dark Archer 48@28.  I am thrilled with the way this bow shoots, light, smooth and fast.  Already bagged a turkey with it last fall.

I just bought a Sarrels Wildcatt that is 56" and 48#@28".  Have yet to really break it in but I am very impressed with the speed, quietness, and smoothness of what I consider to be a short recurve.

Sweet looking bow!! What is the overall length of the Sheepeater? I am looking for a bow shorter than 54" for hunting from a ground blind.
