Honey locust is strong enough for a self bow. I've never used it but plenty of others have.    Pat

I haven't used it as a self bow (yet) but I have as a board bow with an 1/8" hickory backing.  It works great.  Took my first deer with it (and a squirrel) this past fall.

I've got one in the works for a bud,I'll let you all know in about a month! LOL I have sold several sets of lams in honey locust, but haven't seen any of the results yet.
If I remember right, it is close to hard maple in shear strength,I'd think it would be good.
