I love my wife
« on: February 05, 2008, 06:04:00 PM »
So, I've been itching for a custom recurve... I have a Byron Ferguson Longbow, but it's too heavy for me (58@28).  I have a new little girl on the way, and I really wanted to get my bow before then.

My plan was to name the bow after my new girl, then give the bow to her future husband when she gets married. (I'm not gonna let her date till she's 30, so I should have plenty of time with it!)

So my wife tells me that she thinks that's a great idea, and is encouraging me to order it around the time that the little one is born!  Hoo Hoo!!!!

I knew she was something special, but she never ends to amaze me!  (And I didn't forget manlaw... I'll post the bow pics when I get it!)

Darn, I knew I should have thought of that! What a great idea. My little girl is 7, and I'm positive she won't go on a date until she is at least 30!

You guys are way too leniant. I have 14 adn 11 year old daughters and they will NEVER date!!!I know, I live in a dream world. My objective is to get as many heads on the wall before dating begins and then leave a space. When he asks what goes there I will only smile:)

You lucky dawg! I can't think of another thing that a wife could bring to a home. She seems to have done it all!

Congrats, best of luck for an easy carrying and delivery of your beautiful baby. I bet your daughter keeps the bow and you will have to get another for your prospective sob-in-law.

Oooh. Did I say that?  :p    ;)    :D

Leatherneck, that's an awesome idea. I plan on either to be cleaning a gun or sharpening a VERY big knife when the first date knocks on my door!!

You guys have it all figured out, eh?  Enjoy them while they are little, they grow too fast!  I vowed my daughter would not date until 30 - she's now 25 and will be married later his year!

Ok Tim, I think we all love your wife now, does she have sister or do we have to wait around to date your daughter. If I were you I don't think I would post a picture of that bow that you order, you never know how long some of us will wait for a custom bow, like 30 yrs.chickenman

She does not have a sister... and easy on the "date your daughter" thing, all right?  hehe...

She does not yet have a trad bow... anyone have any reccomendations on a good beginners bow for her?  She currently shoots a 44# @ 24" mathews pully popper.  Figured if I can buy a new custom, she should get a "birthday" present too!

I set my wife up with a Proline Warf.It is an ILF limb recurve made from an old Proline Typhoon riser. It makes a high performance easy to shoot bow suited for a short draw. She is shooting a set of short 26 lb limbs on it now.The good thing is she can get heavier limbs from several places in just a few days for as little as $200 for very nice new limbs.
