Any body shot a Brown Recluse?
« on: February 06, 2008, 11:33:00 AM »
I've been looking at these bows for awhile now and was wondering if anybody has shot one of them and if so what did you think?

Larry, did you try a search here yet? I think somebody was getting some information about them just a little while back. Never shot one, heard their plenty fast but somewhat loud. I hate to comment too much from rumor but there you go. Be sure to post pics when it arrives!

I haven't done a search, i never thought about that, thanks. I've heard good things and bad. I'll find out before to long. I ordered it at 54# and another set of limbs @ 45#. I ordered the panther which has a smaller riser. I'm going to take it on a hog hunt in March if it comes by then. I've got a camera finally, now if i can figure out how to post pics i'll post some when i get it. Thanks

I finally took the time to sit down and figure pictures out myself. Learning to post them with a new bow is impossible... how can you read when you want to shoot?!. If you'll e-mail them to me I can post them for you. Perfect weight choice for the limbs (as far as I'm concerned anyway). Combine that with a small riser and I think it will be a very cool bow.

I picked the camo wood for the riser and a high wrist grip. I also forgot to mention the length, it's gona be a 58" bow. I can't wait to shoot it. It has a low brace height 5 1/2 i think. That will take some gettig use to, i'm sure.

One I had is one of those I should have kept. Very fast and smooth. Grip is not for everyone but worked for me. Did let you know if you had a bad release - not real forgiving. Took some tuning to get it quiet but I got it there.
Good luck.

got bit by one on the leg, still got just a small hole to show for it (small place where meat is missing below skin)  :knothead:   but I came out alright?

OHHHH The bow?? nope I held one once, didn't get to shoot it though. That was years ago, I really thought they were gone?

Post pics when you get it!, I heard they were top notch.

I have shot one, it was fast because of the riser being so far behind the limbs ( it's like an over draw ) it was also vary hard to group arrows, any torque on the riser was magnified.

My two cents: fast but critical to shoot
