Tip overlay material
« on: March 03, 2009, 06:52:00 PM »
My buddy George brought me several osage burls a while back. When my bandsaw blade in getting dull I use it to cut burls. They have a good bit of grit in the bark inclusions and will dull a blade. Here is what I found in the one I cut a few days ago. Lots of overlay material.

Eric. that is some nice looking wood. Seems like a tip overlay is too small to show off all that figure. What other stuff do you do to take advantage of it. Knife handles, pens, bowls, etc, could look real good.

Never seen an osage burl before. Thanks for posting it Eric. Good looking wood. Make a great looking riser in a three piece!
