I have a 25 year old Craftsman 12" that I made a bunch of bows with.  It is old-school good stuff.  We have a 5 year old Crafstman here at work.  It's crap.  Buy an old one off of craigslist.com and you will be fine.  I see them for under $100 on there all the time.

I have a 12' craftsman electronic bandsaw. I think it's about 10yrs. old. I've never messed with the electronic part, I think it's a angle and rpm readout but, don't have an owners manual. Seems to cut and work just fine.I too am curious what and where to get cool blocks?

John, looks like the one I have but I did not get the plate extension from the seller, I'm sure she has it. I'll ask her or her snl about it.
Thanks Eric, the saw already has them, so i need to order spares.
what I did not say before is that I have no experiance with a band saw, I made 3 self bows 14 years ago w/o a band saw.

The blocks last a long time. You can resand the side facing the blade or reverse them. I used the same set for 10 years, just readjust them as they wear down.

Hey ya'll Thanks for the links,The new owners manual shipped today. I think this saw will work fine once I get the owners manual and new blades.  I can then adjust the saw and make some cuts to try it out.

I got 3 blades from Band Saw Blades, Inc. last Friday for $9.97 each. I called him at 3:30 and had the blades in my hand by 3:50.              I just got the band saw "owners manual" in the mail today from Sears, so I may tune it up this week and try it out on some scrap wood.
