Live Oak for Bows

Is Live Oak good Bow making wood? I just had to cut down a 250+ year old LO tree and I hate to just cut it up for Firewood.
Good stuff ain't cheap, and cheap stuff ain't good!

Live oak is if I remember right one of the strongest oaks .82 specific gravity and will work great for selfbows

I don't know if live oak is better than any other oak but I've made 2 live oak selfbows they both came out alright.Oak makes a good bow.

Live oak will make a great bow, and if you still worry about the bow braking just add a bamboo backing.
If I am wrong let me know it.
