I just finished my latest longbow, thought I would show you guys and also note the things I learned from you guys over the past year and how I applied them to this bow.
This is a 68" R/D longbow (rough form pictured below). 1.5" wide at fades, 47# @ 28". Bubinga riser with maple/white glass accent. The limbs are bubinga under clear glass, white accent stripe and maple S/A cores.
I built the form using a half template and a router, learned from Kenny's website. Also used a stripe in the tip overlays (something I learned from Kenny too)..I used TB finish and frosted the last coat, something I learned from Apex. I finially know how to make thin tips...something I learned from all of you guys. And used smooth on for all of my overlays (rather than CA or 5 min) which helped ensure a seamless transition (somthing i learned just recently from you guys). It is certainly the best shooting longbow I have made to date.
