Sorry Mike I didn't think I was bashing but there is as much stuff to hang on a DAS as any wheel bow but you could put inserts in a wood bow and do the same thing. And I am fully aware how Dave shoots and Paul shot. I have 2 Tips and think the are the best bows out there.
Bishop...Like I said earlier. This is a discussion of opinions and some facts as you state above. I think it's great you "tip" owners are passionate about your bows but I know that does not lend itself to completely open thought. I'm not passionate about bows as I tend to look at them as tools or machines, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, with that said concentrating on the original posters question and needs the DAS can't be beat.
Need to slightly tweek tiller no problem. Want to shoot off the shelf no problem, raised rest no problem. Don't like the grip change it...as many times as you like with a purchased one or buy a blank and shape it yourself, screw it up, no problem throw it out and start over.
Limbs can be found everywhere and available today, from older ILF limbs that cost peanuts but are still better than most bowyer's limbs to state of the art high tech ILF limbs used by Olympic archers. You can even have Border Archery build you a set of their best to ILF specs.
Both are great bows it's just a matter of what you want a bow to do today and many years from now and what will make you happy owning. A DAS may arguably be the most shootable/tunable/versitile hunting recurve available but if you just can't over the fact it's state of the art and not wood than it's no good to you, and you know what that's OK.
