Second attempt for Scott! FINISHED!
« on: June 13, 2009, 07:34:00 AM »
This is the second hybrid bow build for my buddy Scott, since the first came in too light.  This one has an osage/wanut riser with maple accents, hickory core, curly hickory limbs, and antler tips.  It is 62" NTN and draws 57@28.  I just started filling the pores and will finish it soon.

Love that riser swoop, Marty - looks like another winner for sure.  Is that your newer R/D form?

Kenny,  that curly hickory is awesome!  I'll be wanting some more of that, for sure.  I'll be calling you on Monday to place another order buddy.

This is my newer pronounced R/D (hybrid).  I've got three more to build after this one!

Finished this one this morning.  She is 62" NTN, and draws 57@28.  Osage and walnut riser with maple accents.  This beauty has an edge grain hickory core, curly hickory limb faces, and antler tips.  She is a good shooter!  I'm gonna try a power lam on the next one to try and move the bend out of the fades just a little.

Awesome bow Marty!!!Think you will be pleasantly surprised at the benefit of the power lam, helped me dampen some vibration and added a little quickness. Got me some help from the pirates! Let me know what ya think.>>>>>------->

That looks very nice.  With you eye for asthetics I can see why you are going for the power lam idea.  Always thinking, aren't you?

It's a really sweet shooting bow.  My chrony is not working properly.  I have a light kit on the way that should help.  I may not make any changes.  The unstrung profile of this bow is quite a bit deflexed right where it apears to be bending the most.  I think it looks worse than it is.  I'm not gonna make any design changes until I get it chronographed properly.

Thanks for the compliments!
