I'd google lmfao as it contains language that would probably not pass moderators snuff if I posted it here.

AMO...Archery Manufactures Organization...a standard set for bows. Example, if your bow length is 60", you would order a dacron string AMO 60" and it should be around 56" long.

I also believe theres an AMO standard for compounds when it comes to bushings having to accept stabilizers...like 8/32. Everything has to be standard.

How about ROFLMFAO? The second 'F' is optional, the first 'F' is Floor. "Rolling on Floor".
You get the idea.

Joe,

What is funny, is that there is an AMO standard for string length, and it is NOT 4" shorter for a recurve.  The problem is that most bowyers don't follow AMO specs and or know what they are.  LOL!!

The Correct AMO length of a bow (recurve, longbow, horsebow, etc.) is 3" longer than the length of the string that causes it to be braced correctly.

Sorry for the rant, but being a string builder, I sure wish bowyers would actually use AMO standard if they are going to write AMO on their bows, or at least warn there customers of the correct length string (actual) they need for their bows.

Here is another one:

IMVHO  -  In my very humble opinion!   :knothead:
Gen 27:3  "Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;"
