West coast designs
« on: June 23, 2009, 01:27:00 PM »
Can anyone tell me of a good way to put those west coast designs on the back of a bow? Would acrylics work? Should a coat of maybe a thin glue be put on first as a primer? Would a spray on finish have to be used?

Bone, acrylic paint will work fine. I have used acrylics and the craft paint from Wally World to add designs to bows. On some woods you should use a primer first to prevent the paint from running. Shellac will work for this or a thin coat of TBII or TBIII.

Thanks Pat. I guess I could just try these things out for myself but it's nice to know someone has tried it and save me some grief.
