Riser Wood dimensions

After hunting season I'd like to try my hand at making a glass recurve.  I have some osage I cut and had sawn into 1" x 2" boards, mostly 84" long, two years ago.  I was wondering what size of block do I need to start with for the riser?  I was thinking of using the pattern from Bingham.  I'd also like to go with a high contrast flare in the block and wonder what would be a good wood to contrast with the light brown osage ages to?  I'm partial to cocobola myself but not sure what else would look good.

The riser blocks that Binghams sells are measured 22"x2x3 3/4" for recurves

longbows 18x 1 1/2x 1 3/4. Hope that helps get you further down the path.

Hmmm, sounds like I would have to stack some boards.  Is it possible to get other woods in 1" x 2" or 2" x 2" dimensions?  (maybe from woodcrafters?) I guess I could use accent strips between each layer.  Thanks for the info.
