Hi ya Frank, I've had a few Grizzly's, next to the Kodiak, my favorite bow. I think you have a 61, from the serial number and the aluminum coin. What draw weight did you get?

Dano, I think the '61's were all factory camo. I'd guess either '59 or '60.

2 brown chevrons under the handle wrap '59, 1 chevron '60.

Dano it is 45#@28"-62" I wanted a lower weight(elbow problem if I shoot to much more then that at my 30" draw. I had a great 59 grizz that was 55# and boy I hurt bad after shooting. To much arm wrestling in my younger days. I kinda thought she was a 60 or a 61 because of the coin. Kenny I know this is a dumb?? but what chevrons?<><

That's a '59 or '60.

Kenny is spot on with the description.  If it has two walnut laminations visible below the grip like this << than it's a '59.  If there's just one, < than it's a '60.

I'm trying to get something in the mail to you this week... need to take it apart some first, but I think you'll like it  ;)

The top bow is a '59 Grizz with the two chevrons.  The bottom is a '57 Kodiak Special with just one chevron below the grip.

Sounds like a '60  :)   The '59 in the pic has some really dark rosewood... the one I just picked up from fleabay (with a badly cracked riser!     ) has the bubinga

Yup.  Evan is growing like a weed and still constantly amazes me!  We were out shooting again yesterday and he'll be getting a bow of his own this week  :)   The new baby is due in January and we just found out we'll be having a little girl  :D

Jeremy, congrats on the new little one. You'll never be the same. That little one will wrap you around her finger and you'll never get off!

Yeah, my son's 8 and still thinks I hung the moon, my daughter's 12 and thinks I'm dumber than the man in the moon!! She still comes to me though when she needs a Daddy hug, that means alot.

Back on track. Is there any body out there that has ever tried to copy the '59-'60 Griz. I know a few have coppied the '59 Kodiak for obvious reasons. I think the Grizzly shoots about as good as a bow could. I've never shot a '59 K cause I can't afford one. Does it shoot better than the Griz?
