New 58 in. Longbow
« on: September 08, 2009, 04:26:00 PM »
I do build some bows longer than the shorties. Here is a 58 in.I just finished. It has a cocobolo riser and action-boo core with zebra wood limbs( copperhead skins for an added touch. The bow is 56 lbs @ 28 in.

Bill, you sure build a purty bow. Could you show a pic of the riser profile from the side straight on?

Thanks for the compliments guys . I like to show my bows to someone that can appreciate them. The wife doesn't seem to enthused.

Charles, the  skins were great. I stained them orange and it really brought the pattern out . You don't have any emery rat snake skins do you ?

BC ,I remember you well big guy. Maybe now you will show me more respect !    "[dntthnk]"

Kenny , here is another picture of the riser. I made this one a little thicker than I usually do.

Very nice combo and great idea on the skins.

That's interesting that you dyed the skins, regular leather type dye ? Any tips to pass on in that regard ? No Rat snake skins, we have some around here but I don't mess with them.

Wow! That is gorgeous! I love the stained skins. 58" is long for you?
