R/D long bow
« on: September 15, 2009, 03:49:00 PM »
I have never made a reflex deflex long bow. I have a piece of hickory backing I would like to use to try one. What is a good easy way to do this?

Do you heat it to bend it or is it just in the way you glue it?

You will get better results by gluing the R/D into the glue up. If you can get your hands on Dean Torges' DVD, "Hunting the Bamboo Backed Bow" it explains very well and with simple forms how to make a R/D bow with this method.
Check out the "How To" section. There may be a build along there that will show you how.
