Bamboo! What to do?
« on: October 15, 2009, 12:26:00 PM »
Got a mysterious package in the mail the other day. Opened it up and there are 4 pieces of bamboo between 4' and 6' feet in it. I knew I hadn't ordered any or traded with anyone, so I was confused. Took a while but I remembered a quick conversation with a guest at our camp, some weeks ago and worked out that she had sent it to me. Unfortunately they are only 1-1 1/2" in diameter and have some serious splits in them. I am pretty sure they are not much use for bows but was wondering if it is psible they would work for laminated bamboo arrows. Does anybody do this or is it more work than it is worth.
Will post pictures when I get home from work, if that will help.

I think the 1.5in might work for a backing. 1.5 * 3.14 / 4 = 1.18 it would just be a thin limbed bow. I wonder if it would work to internally foot carbon arrows. Or as a weight/spine weight tube for them.
