tiller opinion
« on: October 24, 2009, 03:27:00 PM »
hi guys, I need a tiller opinion on a new bow i just started.  It is hickory backed ipe, 60 inches ntn, i'm hoping for 55 @ 26. It has a couple of knots in the belly of the lower limb.  But so far so good, the bow is on a 2 inch brace height and it drawn 18 inches in the picture.

Looks to me like the inner limbs need to bend more. Is this a bend thru the handle "D" bow?

It's always nice to have the extra weight, so you can get it right. Nice work Noel.

That's looking good, I would get the middle bending more to get closer to circular tiller.

The inner limbs, with no handle, I like to bend all the way thru the middle.

hi dano, did a bit more work on the inner limbs witch took a bit of weight of as well. at the moment shes got a 6" brace and draws 55@24, i figure she should be close to 55@26 by the time i finish sanding. so if the tiller looks ok to you guys i guess i can go to the next step.   noel

YEAH! I'd shoot a hundred arrows thru it and check tiller, but she looks pretty good.
