A Bow for a Friend
« on: October 28, 2009, 04:11:00 PM »
hey guys,

here i show you a bow, which i built for a good friend. i had not seen him for a couple of years. as i met him again, we spoke about my archery and crafting bows. in this conversation i noticed that he is very interested in this stuff. i think its a nice surprise for our next meeting to give him a bow for present.

well, here it is. its 64" ntn, draws 48# @28".
hickory backed bulletwood. hope you like it.

Very nice bow and gesture. What is "bulletwood". Very nice contrast with the hickory.

Great looking bow, I really like the leather work on the handle. Your friend will be overjoyed I'm sure.

Excellent craftsmanship, that turned leather handle is really a nice touch. You know your friend is going to want a matching quiver when he sees that:) Kirk

Absolutely beautiful!

What part of Bavaria are you in?  I spent some time in Lindenberg (im Allgaeu) as an Austauschschueler (Gymnasium).  It means that my German is now forever tainted with a wicked dialect!

thank you guys for the good feedback!

@ flntknp17
i live in lower-bavaria(niederbayern) in kelheim, near regensburg,60miles from munich. if you think the allgaeu-dialect is wicked, wait to hear the oberpfalz-slang! sounds like a barking dog. hope you had a good time in bavaria! if you come back again some day head for kelheim, and we´ll do some fun shooting (and drinking bavarian beer of course!)
