My first self bow...
« on: November 09, 2009, 04:07:00 PM »
Okay guys, here is my first attempt at a self bow,i appologize for not having pics from start to it's current state, but to b quite honest,i thought it would b splinters by now,or messed up being it was my first. The bow is  from a hickory stave, dried in my atic for about a year, then i went to work on it.the first few pics are the roughed out bow, then a couple after the limbs were tapered, early stages of tillering. It's still under construction, and will post more pics when it's complete.

Good to see a fellow Kentuckian on here.  I am also in the process of my first hickory self bow.  I got it all roughed out and am finishing up my drying box right now.
Blessed be the Lord my strength; which teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight.
