Stave wood choices for the west

l was looking for what types of woods I can use for staves that are esay to find in the west. I am going to start on a board bow for my frist, but I want to start to harvest some staves this winter for later use.

juniper, yew, mulberry, cherry and other fruit trees, just for starter's. osage is a pretty tough find out here

Chokecherry can make a good bow.  Also don't forget vine maple if you have access to it.   Another good one is serviceberry.
