Help,my new strings unravelled
« on: February 10, 2008, 02:06:00 PM »
I bought and watched the dvd doing the twist and decided to give it a shot.My first attempt was too long but my second was the perfect length. However when I tried to string the bow,the loops unravelled.Maybe after I made the first loop I countertwisted the string the wrong way or twistewd it too much or not enough?Any suggestions??Thanks

You probably started twisting one way and rapping the other, then switched one so you were twisting and rapping the same way.  :(
The string is not lost, but you will need to retwist it.  :(
Put on a happy face  :bigsmyl:  and think of it as practice.  There is nothing more rewarding than creating your own tackle.

I have not seen the DVD but I agree something was twisted the wrong direction. I don't do any I don't do any counter twisting. Do one end, make ure the strands are straight. Switch to the other end and do it exactly the same as the first. Simple as that. add twists as needed for length.

When you went to make you're loops and matched the bundle colors, you probably wrapped one bundle over the other instead of twisting them together as one. Hope this made sense.

Well,I tried again, everything looks good but when I string the bow the loops unravel.A buddy showed me before,I think I'm going to have to give him a call.
