Show off your best looking arrows
« on: February 10, 2008, 03:53:00 PM »
I am going to be making my son a new set of cedars for the long bow I am building him. I am struggling with colors and cresting and spicing feathers or not. I want to make a really nice set for him and this bow.

Please post pics of your best arrows so that I might show him and let him take ideas from your pictures. I know you guy make some dandy looking arrows.

WOW!!  There are some really sharp arrows here.  I really like the spliced fletching.  Here are some of mine.

Hmm...guess I'm in the minority on this one. I consider my natural shafts my best looking arrows. I use all kinds of shoots as shafts but these ones are made from switch cane. All have antler nocks and the hunting arrows are tipped with obsidian heads.

Bowmo, those cane arrows are way pretty!  May try those next year, but am more focused on heavy arrows for a safari this year.  Just finished spray crowning and cresting these GT's.  They are one spine heavier and will take a bunch of weight up front for a 660 grain arrow.  Ready for some wild turkey feathers and a little burning action....

Here's my first set of woodies last year, thought they turned out nice - but can you spot my screw up?

Keep up the good work, guys.  Some real art.  It is an honor to take a deer with a well made arrow...IMHO!  Steve

Autumn Legend

When summer's gone and leaves turn gold
from frosty mornings to colors bold

Our hearts are pulled to the woods again
where  hunting time must soon began

With bow in hand and arrows true
the goal is clear what we must do

Release the hunting spirit bold
then Autumns Legend can unfold
We live in the present, we dream of the future, but we learn eternal truths from the past
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice.
