hi all now i just got a takedown recurve and it has no string and no amo on the limbs. sooo how do i go about measuring it for one ?

Measure nock to nock around the curves and try 4" less.

make a sting with a loop at one end, and tie a bowyer's knot at the other. tighten the bowyer's knot until the bow is at a reasonable brace height.

I agree with Shaun. My string jig is set to make a string 3" short of of the ntn length for a longbow and 4" short of the ntn length for a recurve.
