2 PIECE LONGBOW BUILD ALONG?

Anybody know where I might find a buil along on assembling a 2 piece longbow?I am interested in a sleeve style or locket/socket style buildalong.

I don't think I saw it in the linked thread above, but I know a bowyer who would take bondo (auto body filler type) and use it to make a more comfortable dished handle over the metal/brass sleeve, and cover that with leather.

Thats a good point.Most you see have a straight grip.Not my style.Fox and Wes Wallace have thier brass and stainless sleeve style TD with more of a locator style grip.I am not sure what they use to build the grip into that style?But bondo sounds likely.

The Fox breed 2 piece I had was nicely done.The Wallace looks about the same from what I have seen in pics.

I have seen somewhere of using leather pieces super glued in layers and then filed to profile you want. Here it is. Check this out.

That link is for if you want to add some contour to the grip instead of just the straight sleeve. Probably have to add the first layer with mt 13 adhesive or something first then superglue the rest of the layers after that.

always wondered how they did the locator on the sleeves....auto bondo, who'da thunk it lol
