new veneer = new bow

I nearly had a 60's flashback when I saw this veneer at Kalamazoo last weekend. The wood is called Sapele and the grain pattern is called Pommele. Had to have it and could not wait to see it under glass. Made a 62" 60@28 slight R/D string follow bow on my Montana pattern form. Narrow trapped limbs with walnut core and bamboo lams. Picked up a piece of Blackwood at Kzoo too and used it with some more walnut for the riser.

Wow, Shaun, very nice. I only thought you played with all wood bows. Shows that you are a man of many talents.

Dang Shaun, you don't waste time do ya?
Looks pretty darn good. Hows the blackwood feel in the riser? nice and heavy?
Way to go.

WHOAHHH that sapele veneer is beautyful. If that bow shoots only half as fast as you built it, it will be a hell of a shooter.

That design is what I want to build next. Good job! I noticed while researching the Kustom King glass today that they have that sapele pommele vaneer for $45 but it's enough for 3 to 4 bows. It's beautiful.
