Hi Sharp Shooter,
I use a permanent marker type eding 3000 or similar for that. Before applying the first coat of finish I write the specs on the already sanded bow. I make sure that the writing has dried completely before I apply the finish or the writing will smear. Then
I continue with applying the finish until the bow is done.
