Took it of the form today and cleaned off the excess glue.

Had to take a look at the osage lams. They look absolutely gorgeous ( as usual ) ! Thanks again Kenny.

Is that what the LH stood for? Someone should see a long white tube at their house next week- enjoy.

Ok, I cut and sanded the outline of the limbs and filed the string grooves. Cut out the arrow rest and started to shape the grip...

Overlays and tips are not done yet and still a lot of sanding to do...

Trux.... That turned out awsome!

Swiss... Your bow is looking great as well!

I'm glad I put this together for sure, looks to become a yearly event. I'm just excited for everybody that's getting a new bow and building a bow and having a piece of the Gang.

Boy OH boy there are gonna be lots of happy recipients for sure. Beautiful work by everyone.
I have been a bit slow lately. Hopefully I'll get some more work on my trade bow this weekend.
Kris, I'm glad you started this also. Sharing with others what we love is a special treat. It brings out the best in all of us.

Sorry guys,
no pic's my camera packed it in, but I am just putting on the last few coats of Tru-Oil.
It is a Bamboo Backed Osage with some good old Alberta Bison tip overlays, looking not to bad if I may say so myself.
I really enjoyed doing this, thanks to all of you.
Regards.

Osagetree, looks like you missed on another beauty. Swissbows is another righty. Someone out there will have a nice one for you.

I am ready to get ack to work on mine. had a few household chores that needed taking care of. I have my slat of osage smoothed down to 5/8" and a 10" handle block that is also 5/8" thick. I still need to thin the bamboo and work out the glue up.

Should I cut the bamboo to profile before thining or thin the whole piece and then cut to shape.

With 1/8" bamboo backing, how thick is the osage likely to end up. Trying to deside if the handle piece is enough or if I need to add something to it.
Keep the wind in your face and the sun at your back.

Oh boy...I came home from work today and saw the note that I missed the post office and that they have an insured package for me.  It can only be one thing, and that is a fine bow from one of you guys.......but the only thing is I cant get back to see what I got until this weekend....talk about anxiety.

Right on!

I'm on vacation this week and if all goes well I'll have my bird and be able to get back to work on my trade bow.

The allure of the wild gobbler has got it's hooks in me so I got to amswer the call to that until I tag out.

I am gonna cut a couple nice hickory trees on monday though.

I got a bow from Sharppoint yesturday.  its been raining so i have shot it a lot.  Its super nice though.  black back glass & flat grained red elm on the belly and jatoba riser with maple accents.  My dsl is crawling super slow right now or i would give a proper picture of it.  it literally took 5 minutes for this page to load.  I will post it asap.
