I'll have look in after diner Kris!

Meanwhile here are the finished pics and stats;
62" 49# @ 28". Below weight by 6#, sorry and if it is unacceptable send it back,,, or send it to Kris aka Sticks-n-Strings & I'll make you another one!

Fathers day so I got to do what I wanted. I shot this bow for about an hour this morning, cooked a little, made a string for my next bow and applied the signature and two coats of true oil to the swap bow I named "Splinter". Should get it in the mail by the end of the week.

Signature;

Time to eat and relax!!!!

Here's a few pics after I got the skins on. Obtained these as a matched pair. They don't exactly match and one had damage near the tail. I used them anyway. The one that was damaged caused me to have to offcenter it a bit but I think it still looks okay. You can deffinitely tell it's 2 snakes. I think I'll take it's name from that and name her 2 snakes.
 I haven't seen much at all posted from my guy. I read a post as to concern that somebody may get shafted out of a bow. I'm not the best builder here by far, but if anyone does not get their bow I will build you one.

Gonna start with the tru oil later today and get a leather grip on her in the next day or so. She should be on her way to her new home by the end of the week. Paul<><

Kodiak that is looking good for sure!

 I'd say everything will be fine after all is said and done. But that is a great offer.

Glad it made it there OK Joe. When Kris told me who I would be building for I was a bit intimidated. That and not having built a bow for over a year I knew it had to be special. Looking forward to the pics!

Joe can't tell you how happy I am for you and jealous as all heck. That is a great looking bow and i bet it shoots like a dream as well.

I had to scale down my efforts on my bow. I was trying for a BBO but as it was my first effort at one of these, it didn't work out, go figure. I had to revert to a style of bow I could build. It looks good, is smooth shooting and shoots straight. I hope my recipient can appreciate it. I just wish it was as good a bow as Pat's bow. hoping to send something special along with it.

WOW,,, Pat sure made a winner here in this bow! I'm telling you that "Flip Flop" is a real shooter. Even with the character in the limbs, the profile is nice and reflexed showing no sign of string follow at all. Performance wise, it beats anything I've built or ever shot in a long, long time.
I've had a smile on my face since I got it!

Here she is at about full draw. I noticed right off that "Flip Flop" seemed heavy compared to one of my bows of similar size. The wood must be of really good density.
Pat where did the wood come from?
The handle wrap is really nice and seems like it would be fun to try myself sometime. The tips are sleek and thin making for a fast shooter. Great character in the limbs (more than any pics have shown or can show) she has a smooth comfortable draw and great string allignment.  I am really, really pleased with Pats craftsmanship. The finish and final sanding made a fine, fine bow even finer!
I can't say enough nice things about this bow to do it justice.

Pat and Kris, thanks again and let's do it again next year. I'll be following along with the rest of the trading that is going on with a big, big smile on my face!!!

Boy Joe you make blush!  Flip Flop was therapy for me this past winter. I was out of work for 3 months because of weather and a bad back. The July 4 deadline gave me the confidence to get back into building bows. I purposely chose a difficult stave to make myself concentrate on what to do with what I had to work with. The worst piece of bow wood is the best teacher!
  I'm glad she shoots well for you. I have been told that my scale is heavy so she may be heavier than indicated.
  The wood might be from Missouri but I don't know for sure. I just picked it out of the pile in my work shop.
  I'd love to see a pic of you, Flip Flop and a nice Ohio buck this fall! d;^)
  I can't see the pics but this has happened a few times lately. They will be up soon.

She looks good on you, Joe. Full draw looks good on you too. It hard to tell until the user pulls a new bow.

The tiller is complete on my trade bow. 64# at 28" and should shoot in at 60# at 28".

According to my gizmo, the tiller is nearly perfect.

Question! How do I go about shooting in a bow at 28" when my draw is 26". My husband and my son are nearly 28" but they don't shoot much and I can't be sure they will be shooting it at they draw lenght especially a 60+# bow. I have a cousin the shoots 29". I quess I could have him short draw and shoot it in for me.

I will post pics in a couple of days.

Bona,

 I remember reading something in the bent stick about leaving it on the tiller tree drew foe a couple hours and it would have the same effect as shooting it in.

 I will look it up tomarrow and let you know exactly what it says.

I leave all my finished bows strung for a few hours.  I also draw them at least 300 times on the tree to full draw.  Then I shoot them at whatever draw I can muster.  Bring it here this weekend.  I'll shoot it for you a few times  :)   I only draw 27 normally but can hit 28 a few times at least.
Take a kid hunting!
