Bona, it will be Tuesday before you can mail your bow. Monday is a federal holiday.  d;^)
I generally add a coat or two of Tru-Oil first, write on that then add the rest of the coats over that as I finish the bow; usually 4 or so more coats. One good thing about Tru-Oil is you just work it into a small area and it will blend in with the rest. A "light" buffing with 0000steel wool between coats helps to blend it in.  Makes for easy repairs when needed.

...also, some inks will bead up on the Tru-Oil so in those cases I will do a quick spray of satin poly on the area to be written on. You have to let this cure completely before writing on it but that slightly textured surface will allow the ink to preform as it should. Then I coat that with Tru-oil as I finish the bow.

I used a fine tip sharpie to do my writing. Did a test run on a piece of scrap for insurance. I buffed the area for the writing lightly with 0000 steel wool and applied the writing. I waited a day before appling tru oil over the writing. I didn't encounter any smearing when appling the tru oil over the writing. Like PatB said the tru oil blends right in with the original tru oil finish.

I mailed mine out priority mail on Friday morning.  Post office said it should be to it's destination on Tuesday.  Hope it works well for its new owner and that they like it.

Boys I feel like I've hit the jackpot.  I had a white PVC pipe to open yesterday when I got home from work.  In it was the John Scifres tradebow.  What a shooter!  It is a beautiful bow and I am very thankful.  Thanks John!  I shot her for about an hour yesterday and shoots just where I was lookin.  I did take pictures and will post later this week.  I am on the road today.

Thought I better live up to the agreement to post pics here.  This is my bow made by Eric Pittard "eman416".  It's 57# at 28".  I shoot it very well.  Thanks for a great bow.

Just wondering how many folks didn't get their bow.
I know my friend Sharppoint hasn't recieved his bow yet.

The little knife was a suprise also. Glad you like it. Havn't done a lot of bows but took my time with that one and was very pleased with the way it shoots and how it looks. Hope the little knife comes in handy too.
